Free places to Boondock in Arizona – Family of 5 living in a school bus

We are LOVING Arizona right now! Guess what? There are some amazing places to camp/boondock for free. I will put a link to a couple we have experienced so far.

Apache Junction, Arizona
GPS: 33.486552, -111.467494
Elevation: 2178′
9 tenths of a mile past mile marker 202 on st. rt. 88 (Apache Trail) on the right, north west out of Apache Junction. Primitive camping in the desert with a north-easterly view of Superstition Mountain. It is approximately 2 miles past the Lost Dutchman Campground. The sheriff’s dept. says you can stay for two weeks..and at present, you do not need the Tonto Pass.

This one isn’t quite free, but we really enjoyed it and the people we met there were incredible!
