There are things a potential author needs to
know before they solicit a royalty publisher or
decide to do it themselves. Having gone through
the publishing process several times over, and by
soliciting expertise from others even more
experienced than me, Self-Counsel Press has
published my book Self-Publishing 101.
My reasons for doing this book are:
a) dispel the myths of publishing; b) inspire would-be authors with the courage
to go forward; c) improve the professionalism of a
self-published book so nobody can tell the
difference.
I've been providing full publishing
support to independent and self-publishers who
want to get their message across in books for several
years, and through this process,
I've
come up with three things every would-be author
needs to know:
-
By understanding the publishing process
and what's involved, the author can see and
believe in the fact that they, too, can
publish a book.
-
Regardless if they self-publish or land
a traditional publisher, they need to do the
due diligence in creating a professional
product that would be welcome in any
bookstore.
-
No matter what the venue or how the book
is published, the author has to come up
with a succinct and ongoing marketing plan.
Self-Publishing 101 shows authors how to make a self-published book
a success in today’s difficult book market.
Self-Publishing 101 shows authors how in a
step-by-step manner.
There
are so many options for authors to get published
today, including traditional publishers, small
publishers, self-publishing, and print-on-demand
publishing. It's no wonder that inexperienced
authors have a tough time finding the right option
for their books. Self-Publishing 101 gives authors
the information they need to make the right
choices.
