Debbie Elicksen is
Canada’s
Publishing Expert™. She has helped people from
all over North America with her publishing
expertise. She provides publishing support to
authors, publishers, and companies that produce
books to market their business.
She has authored, edited, ghostwritten, and
project-managed over 100
books for both royalty and self-publishers,
to which at least
eight
have been bestsellers. Her
bestselling book Self-Publishing 101 is available in bookstores
throughout Canada and the United States. She has
recently introduced the Book Publishing 101
Workbook Second Edition (also available on
http://www.booklocker.com/books/3935.html as an e-book) and Audio CD
to her step-by-step guides.
She
is a member of the Independent Publishers
Association of Canada and Canadian Association of
Professional Speakers.
She has extensive copywriting experience, working
four years with the
Calgary
Herald among other publications. Debbie
Elicksen has also covered the National Hockey
League for over 25 years, had a weekly NHL column
on
nbcsports.com, and has written and reported
for several other publications and sports
services, such as the
The
Fischler Report,
ESPN/PA
and Philadelphia Sportsticker, and the
New
England Sports Journal. She is a
contributor to
Hockey Canada’s alumni newsletter, and has authored and published
five sports books.
Elicksen worked in professional sports
administration as Public Relations Director for
the Edmonton Trappers, was on the Hockey Media
Committee for the 1988 Olympic Winter
Games, played a key role in junior football in
Canada for 18 years as the first woman to headman
a football conference in Canada (president of the
Prairie Football Conference), and sat on the City
of Calgary Sport Policy Steering Committee.
